About Jupick

Jupick turns dense financial statements into grades anyone can read. This page explains what the site does.

What is Jupick

Jupick is a free service that sums up the financial condition of large Korean stocks (top KOSPI and KOSDAQ companies by market cap) and major US stocks as S to D grades and 0 to 100 scores. Each company is rated separately on three areas, earnings, financial health and dividends, so you can see where its current financial strength stands without opening the statements.

Besides grades, the Korean site offers stock comparison, a screener, a market heatmap, market news, FX rates, major crypto prices and calculators. Everything is free and needs no sign-up. Running costs are covered by the ads shown on the pages.

Why it was built

New investors often find it hard to tell what metrics such as PER, ROE or the debt ratio mean, or what a good value looks like. Brokerage apps show every number, but reading them is still left to you. Jupick scores public financial data on one consistent scale to take some of that work away. Putting Korean and US companies side by side on the same scale is the core of the site.

How grades are calculated

Each company’s financial metrics are split into three areas. Each area gets a 0 to 100 score, a weighted average gives the overall score, and the overall score becomes a letter grade.

  1. Earnings (40%): ROE, operating margin and revenue growth. How well the company turns capital and sales into profit.
  2. Financial health (35%): debt ratio, current ratio and interest coverage. Whether the company can carry the weight of its debt.
  3. Dividends (25%): dividend yield, payout ratio and the dividend streak in years. Whether returns to shareholders are steady.

An overall score of 85 or more is S, 70 or more is A, 50 or more is B, 30 or more is C and anything lower is D. Valuation metrics such as PER and PBR are shown separately and are not part of the overall grade, because “a sound company” and “a low share price” are different questions.

Important: a grade is not a forecast of the share price. It is a summary of financial figures that have already been disclosed, a snapshot of the present, and a high grade does not mean the price goes up. Jupick gives no trading advice and no price estimates of any kind.
